Why Community Matters to Us

At RealWay, we believe real estate is personal. It’s not just about property—it’s about people, relationships, and the communities we call home. And while helping our clients buy, sell, rent, or invest is a big part of what we do, there’s something even bigger driving us: giving back. Across Queensland, RealWay teams show up—not just at open homes and auctions, but on the footy field, at fundraisers, in volunteer roles, and behind the scenes of some of our state’s most important community causes. This isn’t just a side project for us. It’s a core part of who we are. In Bundaberg, our team helped raise over $106,000 in a single night at their recent Soirée for LifeFlight. The funds went directly to LifeFlight’s First Minutes Matter program, bringing emergency medical care to people in regional Queensland when every second counts. It was a night full of generosity, sparkle, and deep community spirit. In Hervey Bay, RealWay is proud to be part of the Dunga Derby—a wild, multi-day rally raising funds for families facing serious medical and life challenges. Team 38—Leanne Cowley, Blaine Polit, and Monique Maher—are driving more than just rally cars. They’re driving change. Through Rally for a Cause, they’re helping provide real, tangible support to local families who need it most. Mental health is another space close to our hearts. This year, like many before RealWay Bundaberg joined The Push-Up Challenge, with team member Shane Chung completing 3,214 push-ups in just 23 days. The effort raised thousands for headspace Bundaberg and helped shine a light on the importance of open conversations around mental health. It was tough, sweaty work—but worth every push. And it’s not always about the big fundraisers. Last Halloween, the RealWay Edge team brought joy and community spirit to Spring Mountain by hosting a free, family-friendly event at Ben Nevis Park. Kids came dressed up and collected Trick-or-Treat packs, while neighbours mingled, laughed, and made memories. It was a simple gesture—but sometimes those are the ones that leave the biggest mark. Community spirit is alive and well in Toowoomba too, where Cooper Watson from RealWay Toowoomba enjoys getting involved at a grassroots level—often seen cheering from the sidelines while coaching his daughter’s soccer team. It’s just one of the many ways our people stay connected to the communities they live and work in. From sponsoring junior sports teams and donating raffle prizes to backing local schools and stepping up in times of crisis, RealWay teams are known for being the first to ask, How can we help? That’s because our people don’t just work in the communities we serve—we live in them. We know the people, the parks, the schools, the coffee shops, and the stories. We’re part of the everyday fabric of these neighbourhoods. And through it all, we stand by our promise: Real Service. Real Results. It’s not just a tagline—it’s how we show up every day. Whether we’re helping someone navigate a sale, find their perfect home, or raise funds for a local cause, we bring the same care, commitment, and integrity to everything we do. Because when our communities thrive, we all do.And that’s what doing real estate the RealWay is all about....

Caring for Aging Pets Through the Cooler Months

As cooler weather settles in across much of Australia, it’s not just people reaching for extra layers or heating up their homes—our pets, particularly those in their senior years, also feel the seasonal shift. Just like us, they may need a little more support and comfort during the colder months. Older pets are more prone to stiffness, joint discomfort, and sensitivity to the cold. Providing a warm, soft place to rest—such as a cushioned bed, blanket, or a spot in the sun—can greatly improve their comfort levels. It’s also a good idea to keep them off cold surfaces like tiles or concrete wherever possible. Outdoor time remains important, but it may need to be adjusted. Senior pets often benefit from shorter, more frequent walks to keep them mobile without overexertion. On brisk mornings, a well-fitted coat can help keep them warm, and after wet weather, it’s best to dry them off promptly to prevent any added discomfort. Indoors, extra care should be taken around heaters and open flames. Older pets may not be as alert or agile, so ensuring these areas are safe and supervised is essential. If using electric blankets or heating pads, only use pet-safe options and monitor usage closely. Winter can also be a time when age-related health issues become more noticeable. A veterinary check-up is a good idea to assess any emerging concerns and to discuss ways to help your pet stay comfortable as they age. Small home modifications can make a significant difference for aging animals. Non-slip rugs or mats can assist with mobility, and pet steps or ramps can reduce the strain on joints when accessing beds or lounges. These thoughtful additions can enhance both your pet’s quality of life and the overall safety of your home. If you're in the process of preparing your home for sale or rent, don’t forget to consider your pets in the planning. A quiet, secure space during inspections or property viewings helps minimise stress for them and ensures the experience is smooth for everyone involved. At RealWay, we understand the important role pets play in a household. They bring joy, companionship, and a true sense of home. Supporting them through all life stages—especially as they age—is part of what makes a home feel complete. ...

More Transparency, Less Risk: New Seller Laws You Should Know About

From August 1, 2025, the way property is bought and sold in Queensland is changing — and it’s a change that’s been a long time coming. For decades, Queensland has relied on a “buyer beware” model, where it’s been up to the buyer to do all the digging after signing a contract. Only then would they uncover details like zoning, easements, or body corporate rules. But now, that’s being turned on its head. The new Seller Disclosure Regime, part of the Property Law Act 2023, will legally require sellers to provide key information about a property before a buyer signs anything. That means important details — like who owns the land, whether there are any easements, pool compliance, or upcoming infrastructure works — must be disclosed upfront. Sellers will need to complete a standardised document known as Form 2 and provide specific supporting certificates, such as a title search, registered plan, and rates or water summaries. The exact documents required will vary depending on the property — for example, body corporate disclosures for apartments or pool safety certificates where applicable. It’s a formal, structured shift toward transparency. For buyers, it means greater confidence and fewer surprises. For sellers and agents, it means more responsibility to get the details right from the outset. And the consequences are real — if the disclosure is missing or inaccurate, the buyer can terminate the contract at any time before settlement and receive a full refund of their deposit. These protections are non-negotiable and cannot be waived, even by mutual agreement. At RealWay, we’ve always championed clarity, honesty, and good communication. So while this reform changes the legal landscape, it simply formalises what we already stand for. We believe that buyers and sellers alike deserve to make informed decisions — and that starts with sharing the right information, at the right time. If you’re thinking about selling in the months ahead, now is the time to get prepared. Begin collecting the documents you’ll need and speak with your agent and solicitor about the new requirements. With a little preparation, you’ll avoid delays and be ready to move confidently into this new chapter of property law. For us, it’s business as usual — just with better rules for everyone involved. If you’d like to understand how these changes may affect your property journey, our RealWay team is here to help....
